e-file(FEDERAL) Info

How do I e-file my tax return?

E-file or Electronic Filing is a simple, secure - and the fastest possible method to file your income tax returns. To file electronically, you must go through an authorized e-file provider.   Established in 1975, SRJ Consulting is an IRS (Internal Revenue Service) and IDOR (Illinois Department of revenue) Authorized e-file Provider. Over the years, SRJ Consulting has set new standards of excellence, earning a reputation for quality in electronic filing.

If you are due an income tax refund from the government, the quickest way to get your refund is to use an IRS approved electronic filing service.  Whether you prepare your own tax return or have it prepared by SRJ Consulting (or any other tax preparer), you can use electronic filing.  You can file electronically whether you owe tax or are due a refund.  If you file electronically and owe taxes, you may be able to pay by credit card.

We offer you electronic filing service (regardless of where you live in the USA) in addition to our service of expertly preparing your tax return.  If you are tired of working hard for money that government takes away from you, let SRJ's years of experience as an IRS licensed tax practitioner work for you.

Why should I e-file my tax return?

Electronic filers are significantly happier with their filing experience than those who file paper returns.  In electronic filing, your tax return is converted to computer readable form and sent via modem to the IRS.  This way, you don’t have to worry about your return being lost or delayed in the mail.

It's FAST!
A taxpayer will always receive a refund faster when it is filed electronically. You can get your refund in only 10 days with direct deposit or within three weeks if a refund check is mailed to you.

Only Electronic filing gives you guaranteed confirmation that the IRS has received your return! The IRS acknowledges receipt of your e-filed return, providing you with proof that your return has been received and accepted.

It's ACCURATE!
Did you know that all paper returns are retyped into IRS computers? By e-filing your tax return, your tax information is inputted directly, reducing the chance of errors and mistakes. You know that what you submit is what the IRS receives.

An electronically filed tax return also has a higher degree of accuracy than a paper filed return due to the extensive checking performed by the electronic filing software.  Once received at the IRS, your tax return is automatically checked by the IRS computer for errors and missing information.  In fact, electronic filing is so accurate; there is less chance you’ll get one of those letters from the IRS.

Remember, by e-filing, you do NOT mail a paper copy of your tax return to the government.  You sign Form 8453, U.S. Individual Income Tax Declaration for Electronic Filing, which gives the transmitter permission to transmit your tax return to the IRS. The transmitter mails the Form 8453, along with any legally required attachments, to the IRS.

How fast can I get my refund?

Electronic filing offers a faster tax refund - a check mailed to you in three weeks or a direct deposit to your bank account (checking or saving) within 9-14 days.  Using Rivercity Bank, we offer you a Rapid Refund (RAL or Refund Anticipation Loan) cashier’s check within 1-3 days or Electronic Refund Check (ERC) cashier’s check within 9-14 days.  If you file your tax return by mail, it can take as long as six weeks before you can get your tax refund.

Do I need to pay my tax professional's fees up-front or can the same be deducted from my refund?

When using RAL or ERC, you pay no up-front fees since all our fees (bank fee, electronic filing fee, tax preparation fee, etc.) can be deducted automatically from your refund money.  Without RAL or ERC, electronic filing fee must be pre-paid since it cannot be deducted from your refund.
